At Lyceum Leaf School, Kaduwela, learning goes beyond the classroom and book work!

While our Pre-Grade learners engage in their important classroom activities, they also have plenty of opportunities to play, explore, create and have fun.

This week, our little learners enjoyed a wonderful outdoor free-painting activity, where they had the freedom to experiment with colours, textures and their own creative ideas.

Activities like these are more than just funโ€”they help develop fine motor skills through painting, holding brushes and working with small materials, while also supporting gross motor development through movement and active outdoor play.

Most importantly, we believe young children learn best when they are happy, engaged and free to explore.

At ๐—Ÿ๐˜†๐—ฐ๐—ฒ๐˜‚๐—บ ๐—Ÿ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ณ ๐—ž๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐˜‚๐˜„๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ฎ, our little learners in Pre-Grade explored their weekly theme, โ€œLooking Through the Glass,โ€ on their third day of school
As they looked through the classroom windows, they discovered the beautiful flowers and flower beds in the school garden. Inspired by the beauty around them, they created their own little flower baskets, bringing a touch of nature closer to them.

Using natural flowers, our children joyfully connected with nature through hands-on exploration and creative learning. They then took their flower baskets to the garden, sat on the grass, and simply enjoyed the wonderful experience of being surrounded by nature.

Our little learners of Lower Nursery A enjoyed a delightful Teddy Bear Birthday Party! Each child brought their favourite teddy bear from home and joined in the fun-filled celebration.

From singing and dancing with their cuddly companions to sharing joyful moments with their friends, it was a day filled with smiles, laughter, and wonderful memories.
