Consul General of the India in Sri Lanka, Consulate General of India, Jaffna, Sai Murali, met with the newly appointed Vice Chancellor of the University of Jaffna, Prof. T. Velnampy, on Tuesday, 07 April 2026, at the Vice Chancellor’s Office. He conveyed his best wishes to the new Vice Chancellor and held discussions on the future development of the University of Jaffna Community.

Snr. Professor Thirunavukkarasu Velnampy, who previously served as the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, has officially assumed duties today (25th March 2026) as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka.

Snr. Professor Thirunavukkarasu Velnampy, who previously served as the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, has officially assumed duties today (25th March 2026) as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka.

The University of Jaffna extends its sincere congratulations to him and wishes him great success in leading the University towards innovation, academic excellence, and continued growth.

We express our heartfelt gratitude to the former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jaffna, Professor Sivakolundu Srisatkunarajah, for his dedicated and invaluable service.

His inspiring leadership, commitment, and vision guided the University of Jaffna to greater heights during his remarkable six-year tenure from 28th August 2020 to 24th March 2026. His contribution has left a lasting impact on the growth, strength, and dignity of our university.
