It is with profound sadness, we received the shocking message that our dearest Trine Jøranli Eskedal, Norwegian Ambassador to Sri Lanka has passed away on the 17th of June. We have lost a great diplomat, great human, great listner, a person who always cared about others.

Dearest Trine, thanks for all the support you rended to our collaborative projects in Sri Lanka. You tirelessly visited our projects, you were always there when we needed your support. You were with us when the first floating solar plant in Kilinochchi, Sri Lanka was launched. You were there when the first master program in Sri Lanka on clean energy technologies was launched. You were at all seminars and meetings. You were always gracious and hosted our delagtions visiting Sri Lanka. You were always down to earth, mingled easily with everyone. You inspired us, motivated us.

Dearest Trine, we all miss you. We will always cherish your memories! Rest in peace!

Dr. Piranavan Kumaravadivel (Research associate, Condensed Matter Physics, School of Physics and Astronomy, University of Manchester) made a talk entitled 'Magneto-transport in graphene devices: Fundamentals and applications' at the Clean Energy Research Laboratory, University of Jaffna on April 01, 2019. He provided a brief introduction on magneto-transport in graphene based device heterostructures and presented some of his recent results and developments.

8th & 9th Expert's talk under HRNCET and CBERC projects (http://project.jfn.ac.lk/hrncet/)

Senior Professor Gamini Rajapakshe made two important talks to the final year undergraduates, research students and staff under the project on March 21 & 22, 2019 at the Department of Physics under above project. These talks were highly commented by the staff and students of the faculty of Science, University of Jaffna. It was realized that these talk should be conducted annually to new honours degree students of Departments of Physics and Chemistry. Thank you Professor Gamini for your excellent talks.

HRNCET | NORPART Project

It was a nice experience to share our knowledge on Clean Energy technologies with undergraduate students of Western Norway University of Applied Sciences. Thanks Dhayalan for giving this opportunities.

Authors can submit short abstract(s) of their oral or poster presentations at the conference. If the authors intend to publish their work either in the journal “Materials” (https://www.mdpi.com/journal/materials) or in Elsevier Journal “Materials Today : Proceedings“ (https://www.journals.elsevier.com/materials-today), it is advised to submit the extended abstracts in addition to the short abstracts in order to get reviewers’ recommendation for full paper publication.
