The Debating Society of St. John’s College, Jaffna, is organising an inter-school debate competition sponsored by ICBT Jaffna Campus. The competition is scheduled to be held on Thursday at the Technology Building from 7.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.

We are delighted to celebrate another outstanding achievement by our talented tennis players. Our Under-17 Tennis Team emerged as Provincial Champions at the Provincial Level Schools Tennis Tournament 2026, organized by the Department of Education, Northern Province.
This remarkable accomplishment reflects the players' unwavering commitment, discipline, and determination to excel. Their dedication, combined with the tireless efforts of the coach, Master-in-Charge, and the unwavering support of the school community, has once again brought great honour to St. John's College.

Annual Prize Giving – 2026
The Annual Prize Giving of St. John’s College, Jaffna, was held on 27th June 2026 at the historic Peto Memorial Hall, celebrating the academic and co‑curricular achievements of our students.

The event was graced by The Rt. Revd. Nishantha Piyum Dharshana Fernando, Bishop of the Church of Ceylon, Kurunagala Diocese, who served as the Chief Guest. He was accompanied by Mrs. Niroshani Chamalika Wickramaratne.

Dr. Dhanan Senathirajah, Manager of the College, presided over the ceremony as Chair of the event.

The release of the Bicentenary Magazine during the Annual Prize Giving added a historic milestone in the College’s history.

This commemorative publication, celebrating 200 years of excellence, highlights the College’s rich heritage, academic achievements, co‑curricular successes, and contributions to society. It serves both as a record of the past and a vision for the future, reflecting the enduring values and traditions of St. John’s.
