Official page of Wp/Ng Delathura Junior secondary School This school was founded by Rev. Fr. S. The boys’ Section had been ruled by the principles B. K. Mr.
Pabili in 1872.At first it had only a cadjan hall and 35 students. In 1885 this school had been registered as a mixed school’ After that the principle Mr. Sebastian perera had served here for 15 years’ In 1890 this had been separated into two sections as girls’ section and boys’ section and the girls’ section had been supervised by the Rev’ sister of Holly Family Convent , Vennappuwa. In 1972 it had again become a mixed school and Mrs. Sisiliya Silva had four a great service to the school as a teacher and as a principle till 2002. The principle Mr. B.N. Teransce Rodrigo was appointed to this school on 5th October 2002 and after his arrival this school achieved a speedy and quality development. He was able to win the hearts of both the staff and the students through his dedicate on and was able to get the co-operation of everyone to develop the school in many and new ways. This was a memorable era in the history of this school. D.D.N.P. Saparamadu , the present principle is also working hard for the deferment of the students of this school. There are class rooms as well the personal resources suit for the new education reforms in the primary section. There are classes from grade 1 to 11 and the staff is consisted with 18 teachers. Student population is about 400. This school has gifted Rev. Fathers, Rev. Sisters and social works who hold high posts to the society. That It is pleasure to mention every year there is a set of students who bid farewell to school to engage in their higher education. Delathura Junior secondary school which hopes to much forward challenging to the challengers commemorates with gratitude all the principles and fathers who served here.
