✨ Our dearest children happily learned about water animals! ✨
🐳 They explored different underwater animals and learned:
💧 How water animals live
🐠 How they breathe underwater
🦀 The names of sea creatures
🐬 Their movements and sounds
🎶 Children enjoyed fun action songs, dancing, poems, and exciting activities about underwater animals. 🌊💃
😊 Learning became a joyful adventure filled with smiles, movement, creativity, and happiness! 💙

🌿🐘 Land Animals Lesson 🦁🌎
Today Leeds Homagama children learned about land animals and the importance of loving and protecting them. ❤️
Animals are kind and speechless living beings. We should care for them, protect them, and never hurt them for fur or skin. 🐻🦓
Children also learned: 🐘 Land animals give birth to young ones
🦜 Birds lay eggs and care for their babies
🌱 Every living creature deserves love and kindness
Let’s raise caring little hearts who protect animals and nature for a better future. 💚✨

Mothers are the first teachers, protectors, and biggest supporters in every child’s life. 👩‍🏫🤱💞 Their sacrifices, patience, and unconditional love make children stronger and brighter every day. 🌈⭐

🌕🙏 Vesak Sil Campaign at Leeds International School – Homagama 🙏🌕
In accordance with the sacred 🌼 Vesak Poya Day, the children of Leeds International School – Homagama participated in a meaningful Sil Programme filled with spiritual learning, kindness, and sharing. 💛
Throughout the day, our little ones observed Sil with devotion and discipline. They practiced 🧘‍♀️ mindfulness and meditation, listened carefully to 📖 Jathaka stories, and learned valuable lessons about compassion, respect, patience, and gratitude.
✨ The programme helped children understand the importance of: 🌿 Loving-kindness
🌿 Good manners and discipline
🌿 Helping others
🌿 Sharing with the community
🌿 Practicing generosity and caring
After the religious observances, the children lovingly distributed 🍱 lunch packets to people in the community and also participated in a 🍚 Dansala. Through these acts of giving, they experienced the true meaning of Vesak — kindness, sharing, and selfless offering. 🤝💖
Seeing our children engage in these beautiful activities reminded us that even small hands can spread great kindness. 🌸 Their enthusiasm and innocent hearts made the day truly special and memorable.
A heartfelt thank you to all the parents, teachers, and staff members for supporting this noble event and guiding our children towards good values and spiritual growth. 🙏✨

Developing Healthy Children 🌿
To help our children grow healthy and strong, it is important to maintain a balanced diet 🍽️.
Yesterday, our children learned about the 5 main nutrients:
🥗 Carbohydrates – for energy
🥩 Proteins – for growth and repair
🥑 Fats – for strength and warmth
🍊 Vitamins – to protect the body
🥛 Minerals – for strong bones and teeth
They also learned to identify:
✅ Good (Healthy) Foods – fruits 🍎, vegetables 🥦, milk 🥛, home-cooked meals 🍛
❌ Bad (Unhealthy) Foods – junk food 🍟, sugary drinks 🥤, excessive sweets 🍬
Through this activity, children understood how to make better food choices for a healthy life 🌈.
Leeds Homagama proudly supports building healthy habits from a young age 💚

On the 29th of April, we joyfully celebrated our Leeds Homage Awurudu. As part of the tradition, we boiled milk and shared wishes for a year filled with prosperity and happiness.”

This month at Leeds, we proudly celebrated the strength and dedication of our women educators on International Women’s Day, marked an outstanding victory at the U13 TISSL Cricket Championship, witnessed our talented Leedians shine on national radio, and achieved a remarkable milestone at the World Robot Olympiad Sri Lanka National Selections, a true reflection of excellence across our network.
