Teaching 11-year-olds how to find "e-buddies" (internet friends), the module specifically points students to ebuddy.net
As we already know the website is not a place for children. It is a site for adult communities (specifically a gay community site). While there is nothing wrong with adult sites existing, they have zero place in a classroom for children.
How did a module reviewed by Directors, Teacher Trainers, and English Specialists miss a basic URL check? This suggests that while the "Writing" was prioritized, the "Practical Application" and "Digital Safety Audit" were neglected. Dear NIE - being "well-educated" isn't enough, you have to be practical❗️

අධ්යක්ෂවරුන්, ගුරු පුහුණුකරුවන් සහ ඉංග්රීසි භාෂා විශේෂඥයන් විසින් පරීක්ෂා කරන ලද මොඩියුලයකින් මෙවැනි මූලික වෙබ් අඩවි පරීක්ෂාවක් (URL check) ගිලිහී ගියේ කෙසේද?
ගරු ජාතික අධ්යාපන ආයතනය (NIE) - "උගත්කම" පමණක් ප්රමාණවත් නැත, ඔබ ප්රායෝගික විය යුතුය!
