An adverb is a word that modifies, or describes, a verb, an adjective, or another adverb. It tells us how, when, where, or to what degree something happens.
For example, in the sentence "She ran quickly," the word "quickly" is the adverb that describes how she ran.
Adverb එකක් කියන්නේ ක්රියාවක්, විශේෂණයක්, නැත්නම් වෙනත් adverbs එකක් විස්තර කරන වචනයක්. ඒකෙන් කියවෙන්නේ කොහොමද, කවදද, කොහෙද, එහෙමත් නැත්නම් කොයිතරම් දුරට දෙයක් සිද්ධවෙනවාද කියන එකයි.
උදාහරණයක් විදිහට, "She ran quickly" කියන එකේ, "quickly" කියන adverb එකෙන් කියවෙන්නේ එයා කොච්චර වේගයෙන් දුවුවද කියන එකයි.

දැන් අපි 'at', 'on', සහ 'in' කියන මේ සරල නිපාතයන් ගැන බලමු.
'In': මෙය සාමාන්යයෙන් යම් ඉඩක, ප්රදේශයක, හෝ කාල සීමාවක ඇතුළත දැක්වීමට යොදාගනී. උදාහරණයක් ලෙස: "in the room" (කාමරය තුළ), "in 2025" (2025 වසරේදී).
