Four members of the Department of Indigenous Social Sciences, including a final-year student of the Faculty of Indigenous Social Sciences and Management Studies, presented research papers at the 4th International Conference on Innovations in the Social Sciences and Humanities (ISSH 2026) held at Ton Duc Thang University, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, held on the 11th and 12th of June 2026.
The 4th International Conference on Innovations in the Social Sciences and Humanities - 2026 (ISSH 2026) was organised by Ton Duc Thang University jointly with nine universities/ organizations around the world, including the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine. Under the overarching theme βThe Social in the Digitalβ papers were organised into the four streams of Sociology, Social Work, Tourism Studies and Public Administration.

Day three of the Orientation Programme 2026, which was held on the 3rd of June 2026, provided an in-depth introduction to the Faculty's academic framework, departmental structures, and student support services. The programme focused on enhancing studentsβ engagement with university life through sessions on English language development, sports, and student governance.

The Faculty of Indigenous Social Sciences and Management Studies formally commenced its Orientation Programme for the 2024/2025 intake on 1st June 2026. The first day of the programme included student registration and introductory addresses to both students and parents, marking the beginning of a significant academic journey. As a part of this first step, both the staff of the faculty as well as senior students interacted with the students and parents of the incoming batch addressing their concerns about the programme of study and social wellbeing of students.
