If you are someone who thinks that learning English is impossible , please do watch this till the end. I want you to be positive. This is one of the most important lessons that you must watch as a beginner. If you are someone who has not yet been able to understand English Grammar , this will help you. Make it a point to watch this video at least twice. If you can watch three times , it will be really useful to you.

Verb is the most important part in a sentence.

There are five major forms of a verb. The infinitive or the base form of a verb is V1 and that is considered as plural ( there are exceptions such as with "I" and "You" ) .

When you add an "s" , "es" or "ies" to the infinitive of a verb you can form the Simple Present Tense Singular form of any verb . That is V2.

The third form of a verb is the Simple Past Tense form of a verb. To form V3 , we usually add "d" , "ed" or "ied" to the Infinitive of any Regular Verb or we directly use the Simple Past Tense form of any Irregular Verb.

N.B. :-

There are three major types of verbs except Phrasal Verbs. They are
Regular Verbs ,
Irregular Verbs and
Regular & Irregular Verbs .

Please note that Verbs may be Transitive , Intransitive or Transitive & Intransitive. We will learn that in our future lessons.

When you add "ing" to any Infinitive of a Verb it becomes Present Participle form of that particular verb and in other words it is called the Progressive Form. That is V4.

The last but not least is the V5 or the Past Participle form of Verbs. This is the most important form of all because this is the form which is used in all the Perfect Tenses in Active Voice and all the Tenses in Passive Voice . So , literally there are eleven tenses connected with this form of verb.

As I assume , now you should know that Verbs are very vital when learning English Language.

Please note that this is the part one of Verb Variation. The second part of this lesson can be watched in the next lesson.

Make sure that you have already watched our video on Verbs.
