The Pink Moon of 2026,🌕🌕
This occurs between April 1 and 2, serves as the first full moon of the spring season and carries deep symbolic meaning tied to growth and renewal. Named after the pink Phlox wildflowers that bloom across North America during this time, the moon itself does not actually appear pink; instead, it often takes on a faintly orange hue as its light is filtered through the Earth's atmosphere while positioned near the horizon. Beyond its visual characteristics, this lunar event is culturally significant as the "Paschal Moon," which determines the date of Western Easter, and it is widely regarded as an ideal moment for spiritual reflection, connecting with nature, and setting fresh goals for the season ahead.

We are thrilled to announce that Bandaranayake College Union of Astronomy has emerged as the Workshop Champions at Star Party ’26 — South Asia’s largest night sky observational astronomy competition. 🔭

This achievement reflects our passion for astronomy, teamwork, and dedication to exploring the wonders of the universe.
