Students of the Master of Human Resource Management - MHRM - University of Kelaniya (MHRM) Batch 13 (2020 Intake) completed the course in two years successfully despite the COVID-19 pandemic, electricity and fuel crisis, economic and political instability which was in the country, without making any of them a barrier for the successful and on-time completion of the course. They attended the ceremonial convocation held on November 21st, 2023, at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH). Students were very much grateful to the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Deans of Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS) and Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, the Deputy Registrar (DR) - FGS, DR- and the staff of the Examinations Branch, the Head of the Department of Human Resource Management, Academic and Technical Coordinators of the MHRM Programmea the office staff of the MHRM Office for the on-time completion of the course amidst the environmental uncertainties.

Students of the Master of Human Resource Management (MHRM) Programme - Batch 15 (2022 Intake) engaged in an Industry Visit to Nestle Lanka PLC Colombo and attended two workshops related to the HR practices of multinational corporations. The visit took place on Thursday 19th October 2023. This industry visit was organized for the students after completing their coursework in the first three semesters of the course and prior to the commencement of the fourth semester, which includes the Thesis. The workshops were conducted by Ms. Rovina Vadesay - Senior Manager - Talent Acquisition and Development at Nestle Lanka PLC and Ms. Manishka Dayarathna - Executive Employer Branding. The workshop was held at the Nestle Retail Market Place at the head office Colombo. The students of Batch 15, the Coordinator of the MHRM Programme - Dr. Prabhashini Wijewantha, Senior Lecturer, Department of Human Resource Management and Ms. Madhavi Gunasekera, Lecturer, Department of Human Resource Management along with the programme staff attended the visit.

The Inauguration of the Master of Human Resource Management - MHRM - University of Kelaniya Programme - Batch 16 (2023 Intake) was held on Saturday, 20th May 2023, from 9.30am onwards at the ATH Sunil Shantha Memorial Auditorium, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya. The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya - Senior Professor Nilanthi De Silva, joined the event online and delivered her speech. The event was graced by the Dean - Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies - Professor PND Fernando, Dean - the Faculty of Graduate Studies - Senior Professor NAKPJ Seneviratne, Head - Department of Human Resource Management - Mr. M. D. P. Pieris Ms. Imani Perera - Head of Learning and Development of John Keels Group delivered the Keynote Speech. Dr. Prabhashini Wijewantha, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Human Resource Management and the Academic Coordinator of the Master of Human Resource Management Programme, and Ms. Dinethi Yasodara Jayarathna, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Human Resource Management and the Technical Coordinator of the Master of Human Resource Management Programme, and other academic staff members of the department also attended the event. Mr. KBSL Wijerathne, Deputy Registrar - Faculty of Grauduate Studies conducted an awareness session after the main event to make the students aware of the role and responsibility of FGS.
