English and More Language school Sri Lanka English & More is an English Education Centre started in 2007 as a BOI approved Project. Our Branch Both general and business English are covered.

Background to centre:

English & More started as a BOI approved English Education Centre in 2007. It has two schools: one in Matara that opened in April 2008 and one in Galle that opened in October 2009. Matara is a large business centre and Galle is a smaller historic, market town. Both are small schools; Matara has five classrooms (mostly used for our Charity work) and Galle, two. The schools w

ere the first in their area to employ native English speaker teachers. Classes at the schools:

The maximum number of learners on a class is twelve. Young Learners (from the age of 6) are aiming at the UCLES Starters Movers and Flyers exams and adults are aiming at the UCLES suite of KET, PET, FCE and CAE exams. The popularity of these exams in Sri Lanka is such that although there are only small numbers sitting these exams in the schools currently, this is expected to rise sharply. Our Galle main branch & office is open every weekday from 9 am - 6 pm. Our Galle branch is located at 51 New Lane and offers classes to Young Learners and Teenagers on Tuesday- Wednesday- Thursday - Friday

Last Wednesday our Young Teens class cooked spaghetti, It was a fun, educative and delicious way to practice our cooking vocabulary.

First we went shopping, with special thanks to Sandumi’s father for driving us to the supermarket.

During the lesson each student chopped, diced, rolled, fried, stirred, simmered and sprinkled (this was an activity on the whiteboard as well) to create a tasty Western style meal.

We thank everyone who participated for helping us and have made this possible.

With special thanks to Pooja and Adeesha who even made a video compilation.

It was lovely having you Mrs Steffie. Hopefully we will meet again!
