The main function of the brake master cylinder is to convert the mechanical force applied on the brake pedal into hydraulic pressure (brake fluid pressure).

Main Components:
• Reservoir – The place where brake fluid is stored.
• Inlet Port – The port that allows brake fluid to flow from the reservoir into the cylinder.
• Outlet Port – The port that sends brake fluid to the brake lines.
• Piston – The part that moves forward with the push rod and applies pressure on the brake fluid.
• Return Spring – Brings the piston back when the pedal is released.
• Seal – Prevents brake fluid leakage.
• Push Rod – Connects to the brake pedal and transmits force to the piston.

Operation:
1. When the driver presses the brake pedal, the push rod applies force on the piston.
2. As the piston moves forward, the brake fluid is forced out through the outlet port into the brake lines.
3. This pressure is transferred to the wheel cylinders/calipers, which activate the brake pads or shoes to produce friction force.
4. When the pedal is released, the return spring pushes the piston back, and the fluid returns to the reservoir.

• Reservoir – Brake fluid
• Outlet Port – Brake fluid, brake lines
• Seal – Brake fluid leakage

• Reservoir – Brake fluid
• Seal – Brake fluid
