Exploring the beauty of mangroves at Madol Duwa 🌿
During my field visit, I observed an interesting adaptation of mangroves. The pods fall down vertically and start to grow into new plants in the same place. This special method helps mangroves survive and spread in muddy coastal environments. 🌱🌊

Nature itself is a wonderful science lesson.

Field Visit Experience 🌿

During my visit to Madol Duwa, I observed a beautiful mangrove plant called Kirala (Sonneratia caseolaris). It is commonly found in mangrove ecosystems near lagoons and helps protect the environment by preventing soil erosion and supporting aquatic life.

It was a great opportunity to observe nature closely and learn about the importance of mangroves in Sri Lanka’s coastal ecosystem. Sharing this small experience with my students to encourage them to explore and appreciate nature around us. 🌱✨
