As part of their digital literacy development, our Year 10 students engaged in a structured analysis comparing cloud-based and local storage solutions. Through guided sorting and discussion, they examined key factors such as accessibility, security, cost, reliability and control.

This activity encouraged students to think critically about real-world technology choices - recognizing that every solution involves trade-offs. By weighing risks against benefits, they developed a more informed and balanced perspective on how data is stored and managed in modern environments.

A valuable step toward building responsible, informed digital decision-makers.

Who shaped the mountains so they stand tall and firm?
Who carved the rivers that gently find their way?
Who designed a world so balanced, yet so beautifully diverse? Allah is Al-Khaliq, The Creator.

Learners of Year 5, with a 3D map and their own hands in clay, they explored mountains, valleys, rivers, plateaus and plains - feeling the heights, slopes and curves come to life. In every shape they moulded, they paused to reflect on the perfection and wisdom of Allah’s creation!
Learning geography, creating art and nurturing awe.

I place my students at the center of learning, valuing their voice, choice and perspectives. Through inquiry, collaboration and reflection, I help them engage deeply and take ownership of their learning. My goal is to nurture confident, independent learners who can think critically and apply their knowledge in real-world contexts.

Children learn best when they are actively involved in their own learning, rather than simply following instructions. When children explore based on their own curiosity - experimenting and making decisions, they are not just completing a task, they are thinking, questioning as well as problem-solving.

At the same time, the role of the educator remains important. By thoughtfully preparing the environment - offering a variety of materials, introducing new elements like ice, and creating a safe, open-ended space, educators’ provide the foundation for meaningful exploration. This balance ensures that learning is both purposeful and engaging.

When we speak about “critical thinking”, we don’t mean raising children to question everything with negativity or defiance. Rather, we are nurturing minds that reflect and seek to understand before they judge.
Through simple, meaningful concepts, children begin to learn how to ask better questions, recognise different perspectives and think with clarity. These are not just academic skills - they are life skills rooted deeply in our faith.
We are encouraged to be from the people of Ulul-Albab - those who reflect, who ponder, who look beyond the surface and seek truth with sincerity. A thinking mind and a conscious heart go hand in hand.

At the beginning of our Ramadan programme, the Year 2s were encouraged to perform a new good deed each day that would bring them joy and reward. They wrote their actions on these little water droplets, making sure they were not the usual ones.
Through this, they learned the beautiful habit of making dua for others and for themselves.
Now, as we enter the last few nights of Ramadan, we are reminded how powerful and important dua truly is. These are the most blessed nights of the month, when hearts turn to Allah and every sincere supplication carries great value. What began as a small lesson for the learners has now become a beautiful reminder for all of us - to keep renewing our actions and to strive to make sincere dua to make the most of Ramadan.
