OBITUARY NOTICE

It is with profound sorrow that the Old Boys’ Union of St. Joseph’s College, Colombo, announces the passing of our beloved fellow Josephian, Janaka Edirisinghe, of the Batch of 1994.

He has gone to his eternal rest with Jesus, leaving behind cherished memories in the hearts of his family, friends, and fellow Josephians.

The remains will lie at No. 24, Willorawatta, Moratuwa.

The burial ceremony will be held at St. Carlo Borromeo Church Cemetery, Willorawatta, on 28 August 2026 at 4:00 PM.

The Old Boys’ Union extends its deepest condolences to his family and loved ones during this time of profound loss.

May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may he rest forever in the loving arms of Jesus.

Where Our Memories Live

Our iconic Clock Tower Building — a place where every corner holds a thousand memories.

The familiar sound of our footsteps on those old wooden stairs still echoes in our hearts. Those stairs led us to our classrooms, our boarding house, and countless moments that helped shape the people we became.

And every time we passed the mighty statue of our beloved Patron, we would pause, kiss his feet, and seek his blessings before continuing on our way.

Years may have passed, and we may have travelled far beyond those walls, but a part of us will always remain there — on those wooden steps, along those familiar corridors, and beneath the timeless shadow of our beloved Clock Tower.

We may have left the school, but the school never left us.

OBITUARY NOTICE

It is with profound sadness that the Old Boys’ Union of St. Joseph’s College, Colombo announces the passing of our dear fellow Josephian, Niroshan Dinesh Fernando, of the Batch of 1988.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family, loved ones, batchmates, and friends during this time of profound grief.

May the Risen Lord grant him eternal rest, and may his soul rest in the peace of Christ. May his family and all who mourn his passing find strength, comfort, and God’s abiding grace in the days ahead.

Building Bridges, Strengthening Our Common Purpose

The Old Boys’ Union of St. Joseph’s College recently had the pleasure of meeting with the Past Pupils’ Association of St. Bridget’s Convent for a very fruitful and engaging discussion.

St. Joseph’s College and St. Bridget’s Convent share a unique and special relationship as brother and sister schools, with a long-standing tradition of friendship, fellowship and shared values.

The meeting provided a wonderful opportunity for our two alumni communities to explore how we can work more closely together, share our strengths and experiences, and collaborate on initiatives that serve our schools and wider communities.

We look forward to building on this positive engagement and strengthening the bond between our two institutions, as we work together towards our common goals.

OBITUARY NOTICE

It is with profound sadness that the Old Boys’ Union of St. Joseph’s College, Colombo announces the passing of our dear fellow Josephian, Dr. Manilka Jayawardena of the Batch of 1996.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family, loved ones, classmates, and friends during this time of grief. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course once they are confirmed.
