One strategy we use at Singapore Overseas School to set the tone for a day of learning is an interactive morning message.

The morning message is a daily message from the teacher that is posted for students when they enter the classroom. It's a great way to greet and interact with children.

Mathematics Group Work Fun

Our children got into small groups to make a large sized number line. They worked together to align the papers then draw in the lines and markers.

After which, they used the number line to work on concepts such as more and less, rounding off and finding patterns.

Being able to visualise their learning and become a part of the activity helped to develop a clear and thorough understanding of the concepts being taught!

Learning maths can be fun and hands on! At Singapore Overseas School we believe learning takes place in different ways and mediums to cater to the different ways a child can learn.

Throwback Week SOSC


Physical Education is just as important as any other subject.

PE is championed for its potential to promote health and encourage lifelong physical activity.

PE is as an opportunity for pupils to be active and to enjoy themselves. Or in some cases, as a form of stress relief and to serve as a break from traditional learning.

Throw back week SOSC -

Figure Me Out Maths asks children to write maths calculations based on facts about themselves, such as the number of letters in their name, their shoe size and the month of their birthday.

The activity also integrates across a few different subjects.

It has space for a self-portrait and for each child to think up their own personalised fact.

The active is great as it allows children to apply maths to the real world and their own lives!
