The students of Colombo Ramanathan Hindu Ladies' College were privileged to visit the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo for an enriching laboratory exploration experience with hands-on demonstrations and interactive learning opportunities.
As Sri Lanka’s pioneering institution of higher medical education, the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo has proudly served the nation for over 156 years, producing generations of medical professionals and contributing immensely to healthcare through excellence in education, research, and service.
During this inspiring visit, our students had the valuable opportunity to explore the laboratories of several key departments, including Parasitology, Pathology, Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, Anatomy, Genetics & Biomedical Informatics, and Microbiology. Through engaging demonstrations and expert guidance, they gained a deeper appreciation of the fascinating fields that form the foundation of medical and allied health sciences.
The experience was a source of great inspiration, encouraging our students to set their goals towards pursuing careers in medicine and allied health education, while developing a greater understanding of the dedication, knowledge, and compassion required in these professions.
Our heartfelt gratitude goes to Dean Prof. Pujitha Wickramasinghe, Ms. Malkanthi Fernando, and the Heads of the respective departments for their warm hospitality, valuable guidance, and for providing this exceptional learning opportunity.
We also sincerely thank our Principal and the two dedicated teachers who accompanied and guided the students throughout this memorable educational journey.
