World Education Day - 2026

Pleased to share that all donated books by our families were officially handed over to the Colombo Public Library system for nationwide distribution to deserving schools and libraries.

This initiative was made even more meaningful as it was received under the patronage of the Mayor of Colombo— a dedicated public leader.

A massive Thank you to all our parents and families for thier generous contributions and to team Footsteps Preschool for turning a simple idea into an act of nationwide kindness.

🇱🇰 Celebrating Sri Lanka 🇱🇰

This year, our Independence Day celebration took a special, hands-on turn as we dedicated our learning to one of Sri Lanka’s most treasured natural blessings -The Coconut Tree 🌴

From its roots to its leaves, every part of this incredible tree plays a role in our daily lives, culture, and heritage. And what better way to honor our nation’s independence than by teaching our children the value of our own resources

Our young learners dove into a full day of discovery:

🥥 Sensory Exploration: They squeezed fresh coconut to extract milk, feeling the texture and smelling the rich, familiar aroma.

🎨 Creative Expression: Coconut shells became canvases for beautiful artwork, celebrating creativity and reuse.

🍯 Culinary Magic: We used the freshly extracted coconut milk to prepare food and even made traditional coconut sweets.

📚 Learning Exhibition: We displayed a wide range of products made from coconuts, showing just how versatile and essential this fruit is to our economy and daily living.

🍃 Traditional Craft: Children decorated coconut leaves, connecting with traditional arts and understanding how every part of the tree serves a purpose.

A heartfelt thank you to our parents for their contributions and Yara Foods for their generous sponsorship in providing a special Independence Day giveaway for our families! Together, we are nurturing pride, knowledge, and community.

A new chapter begins! The grand opening of our 5th branch in Nawala!

We’re diving deep into the journey of around the world:

🗺️ We’re using maps, brochures, and our big imaginations.

✅ We built our own scanner and learning about rules, routines, and sorting objects for safe travel.

🏙️ From check-in desks to boarding gates, our role-play area is buzzing with pilots, passengers, and luggage handlers.

We’re exploring it all through stories, and creative play. Every day is a new destination for our curious explorers!

Our little ones explored the parts of the body through Play & Reflection!

Using a large, colorful puzzle, they matched each piece while looking at their own reflections in the mirror. What a wonderful way to connect self-awareness with problem-solving!
