News flash…..October 2016
Dear Parents,
The months of September and October were as usual filled with lots of exciting activities. The Preschoolers were engrossed in a world of fairy tales, as we celebrated BOOK WEEK, LITERACY DAY and a month long study on BOOKS, BOOKS and BOOKS. The teachers read famous Fairy Tales and brought the stories to life through drama, puppetry, song and simple story reading sessions. WE HAD GUESTS FROM VAJIRA CHITHRASENA DANCE SCHOOL, WHO TAUGHT US HOW TO TELL A STORY THROUGH DANCE.
In October we explored THE WORLD AROUND US. We learned that people from around the world looked different, ate different food and wore different clothes. The children learned, though we are different in some ways, yet we are the same. The highlight of the month was the “AROUND THE WORLD IN 5 DISHES “presentation. This was to celebrate United Nations Day.
The annual picnic to WATER WORLD and THE FUN FACTORY saw the Preschoolers having great fun.
• In UKG, LKG and NURSERY classes the students are busy these days completing their work books and finishing up their academic work for the year.
• They are also gearing up for the upcoming end of the year concert. They are busy practicing their dance, drama and songs.
• In the month of November we will be learning about Celebrations and practicing hard for our Concert. Parents please make sure your children are sent to school daily. Try to avoid taking leave this last month of school.
Kindly note the following dates:
• 24th November – PTM SG
• 25th November – PTM - RG
• 1st December - concert rehearsal
• 6th December – Concert –Last day of school
• 8th December – parents pick up costumes from school.
