Sussex College Network

which was declared open on the 22nd of January 2004 at Jambugasmulla, Nugegoda where his own son and daughter were among its first batch of 80 students. Winning the hearts of the people soon it grew into a large network of 20 colleges spread throughout 8 provinces in the island by 2009. Presently, the college network has 5,500 students and around 700 teachers. Every college in the network is well equipped with science and computer labs and also exposes our children to learning with computers from Grade 1 upwards so that they become familiar with the innumerable opportunities of access to new knowledge and skills to be leaders capable of facing the challenges of the 21-century global village. Sussex has been awarded ISO certification and has also won National Productivity Awards thrice over in recognition as a leader in quality education in Sri Lanka.
