🧒 Most kids aren't taught critical life skills for self-confidence and success. 🧒

Why is that? Have you ever learned something and thought,

"I wish I had known this when I was a kid?"

I know I have. That thought is what led me to the Adventures in Wisdom Life Coach for Kids certification; because I know that I struggled with so much throughout my formative years. Everyone does, right? But we plod along, and at some point in our adult lives, we begin the process of UNlearning harmful habits and thinking and THEN we begin to teach ourselves healthier mind and body habits.

Doesn't it feel a little upside down?

I am SO excited to announce that I am now a Certified Mindset Coach for kids!!

All my life, I have believed in working with and working for children. There is so much potential in each and every child - and I'm not only talking about the potential for success but I mean the potential to live a good, kind, and happy life. I fully believe in empowering the coming generations to live as the best versions of themselves.

Obviously, I also fully believe in the power of a good story. 😍

As a Wisdom Coach, I will use the Adventures in Wisdom curriculum which is based on stories, to help children reach their fullest potential and create happy, fulfilling lives!

In the jungles of Africa, Gerald the giraffe wishes to dance but he feels that his body is not suited to it. He sees the lions performing a graceful tango, and the warthogs waltzing, and musters up the courage to dance, too. 🦒

They all laugh at him, though, and tell him that giraffes can't dance. Poor Gerald walks away, ashamed and alone.

What happens next is what makes this book one of my all-time favourites. I pretty much cried when I read this book for the first time. ❤️

Book number two in the Eddy and Bear trilogy, It's The Bear further explores what happens when Eddy and Bear meet in the woods once again.

Funny, as always, and also endearing, this book is a must-have to follow up on Where's My Teddy?

Reading Where's My Teddy? to a group of completely engrossed children. 😍

The first book in the trilogy, Where's My Teddy? introduces us to a little boy named Eddy who has lost his teddy in the woods. Eddy's escapades when he goes back to find his teddy make up the story of this book.

I adore this book. I know I say that for most of the books I choose to read to my kids, but I REALLY adore this book - probably because of the fact that it is part of a trilogy that explores this relationship between Eddy and a bear.

But also, books that make children laugh hold a special place in my heart. This one, with funny illustrations and equally funny text always leaves my storytime children giggling - is there anything better than a child chuckling because of a funny book?? Not for a storytime teacher, there isn't. 😍

Filled with Jackie Morris' gorgeous illustrations, reading this book can also involve playing "I Spy" on every spread. We learn about the physical characteristics of animals, walking about in this fantasy land which has circus performers, hot air balloons, entertainers, food, a lovely traveling-bath tub of some sort and all kinds of amazing things. A great, interactive read aloud for the below 6 crowd.
