Today we celebrated the 105th birth anniversary of Guru Chitrasena.

A visionary, a disciplinarian, and a pioneer, Guru Chitrasena laid the foundation for a living tradition, one that has been carried forward from generation to generation through rigorous work, deep respect for form, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. What he shaped was not only the future of traditional dance on stage, but a parampara, a lineage of knowledge, values, and artistry.

This week, as we premiere "Parampara", we dedicate this production to him with gratitude and reverence. His work continues to resonate because of its timelessness, its depth, and the profound impact it has had on Sri Lankan performing arts.
Happy Birthday, Guru 🪔
