The Ticket Launch of the much awaited ‘WAYO YAMAYA’ Musical Show by the Visakha Vidyalaya Old Girls’ Association (VVOGA) was successfully held on 6th May 2026 in a simple yet elegant and heartwarming atmosphere.

The event was graced by the members of the VVOGA including the President of the VVOGA & the Principal of Visakha Vidyalaya and specially the beloved Sangeeth Wijesooriya core member of WAYO, whose presence made the occasion truly special.

Get ready for an unforgettable night of music, energy and entertainment as WAYO takes over the stage at the iconic BMICH on 6th June 2026 from 6.30 pm onwards!

Annual Medical Camp 2026

The Annual Medical Camp organized by the Visakha Vidyalaya Old Girls’ Association (VVOGA) will be held on 10th May 2026, dedicated to all past and present teachers of Visakha Vidyalaya.

The camp will offer consultations across a wide range of specialties, including:
Medicine, Endocrinology, Nutrition, General Surgery, Genitourinary Surgery, ENT, Rheumatology, Pain Management, Physiotherapy, Psychiatry, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Dental Care, Cardiology, and Obstetrics & Gynecology.

In addition, cancer screening services such as PAP smears and breast examinations will be available.

Let us come together to support the well-being of the educators who have shaped generations.

AVURUDU POLA WITH CARNIVAL 2026

Avurudu Pola with Carnival 2026 was truly a magnificent celebration, bringing together students, alumni, families, well-wishers and the wider community for a day filled with joy and tradition.

The event was graced by Chief Guest (past pupil) Kumuduni De Soyza Abeysiriwardhana and Guest of Honour (past pupil) Mrs. Saroja Gunatilleke along with past principals and past deputy principals. Welcoming a large number of visitors, the Pola featured more than 175 stalls, vibrant food courts, thrilling rides, a horror house, bouncy castles and interactive games for both adults and children.

The day commenced with a beautiful opening ceremony and Avurudu Sangrahaya, followed by lively Avurudu Kreeda and the much-loved Avurudu Kumara Kumari competition for kids. As evening approached, the grounds transformed into a lively carnival, with visitors dancing to the beats of the DJ from 6.30 pm onwards.

Despite being held amidst a fuel crisis and an intense heat wave, the event was a remarkable success, a true testament to the dedication, teamwork and spirit of everyone involved. The beautifully decorated and colorfully lit pathways added a magical charm, especially at night, making the carnival the highlight of the day.

A heartfelt thank you to all our sponsors, vendors, and participants who made the Visakha Avurudu Pola a success. Despite many challenges, your unwavering support and spirit truly shone through.

Avurudu Pola 2026 was truly unforgettable, filled with joy, unity and cherished memories for all who attended.

BLOOD DONATION PROGRAMME

Give Blood – Give Now, the annual blood donation programme organized by the Visakha Vidyalaya Old Girls’ Association, was successfully held this year at the National Blood Bank, Narahenpita, on 7th March 2026.
With the collective dedication, enthusiasm, and encouragement of all involved, the programme recorded 63 donors. The outcome that is truly commendable and reflects the strong spirit of giving within our community.
Over the years, this initiative has grown into a significant and much-anticipated event in the OGA’s annual calendar, symbolizing compassion, unity and a shared commitment to saving lives.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported and participated in making this year’s programme a success. Your contribution continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of many.
