How our brain resolves a math?
Usually our brain relates the numerical problems with past experience
Weak student cannot relate numerical problem instantly because either perception on that problem is defective or not vivid.
If your brain do the calculation, it will be fast but if you will try yourself it will be slow because your mental reflex does not participate in this process.
