Aabidha Ilmy a Grade 10 student of Al Awwal school Rajagiriya,won a Gold medal in a Karate tournament held on 07.02.2026 at the university of Colombo. It was an open karate championship organised by the international karate federation.
She won the medal under the Kumite event.

On behalf of Madam Principal F.N.Hamza, I, F.Z.Mahir headmistress and Teacher of Al Awwal school along with my entire staff of teachers, take this opportunity to thank Allah the almighty for helping us for the little we have achieved from the 7th of January 2013 till date الحمدلله as we reach a milestone of 13 years today ما شاء الله .

A special gratitude to our dear parents of Salma Jiffry, Sahla Faheemdeen, Yahya Riyas and Wazeem Rajai , for being the first batch of our school, it's been a long journey ما شاء الله with you all, and we are much grateful for trusting us at a time that we were very small with only 7 children. جزك الله خير .

We thank each and every Parent and Well wisher for the continuous support given towards the development of the school. Next to Allah it's the cooperation of every single one of you which has brought us here to whom we are today الحمدلله .
