Vesak celebrations at CMA

The Vesak is the full moon poya day in the month of May that the Buddhists celebrate the Lord Buddha’s Birth, Enlightenment and the Parinirvana by doing various kinds of religious activities.

CMA –under the patronage and guidance of the President Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala, the Actg. CEO Mr. Kosala Dissanayake, organized an event on the 22nd of May 2024, to celebrate Vesak by CMA Student affairs division taking the main lead together with all the other CMA staff members.

This event included a Vesak Dhamma Desana Conducted by Ven Vajiraramaye Nanasiha Thero offering afternoon dana to the priest in lieu of lord Buddha and the Maha sangha. Then in the evening of the same day these celebrations included Vesak bhakti gee, followed by dinner to all who participated.

In singing the Vesak bhakti gee, few CMA Members and CMA Students together with the CMA staff members participated collectively and 10 popular Buddhist songs of Late Pandith W.D Amaradewa, Visharada Nanda Malani, Visharada Victor Rathnayake and of many more other singers were sung as bhakti gee.

Signing the Member Pathway Agreement between CPA Australia LTD on 9th April 2024.

The Membership Pathway Agreement was signed by the CMA Founder President and the current President Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala on behalf of CMA-Sri Lanka and by the Chief of Global Member Experience, Ms Rowena Buddee, on behalf of CPA- Australia Ltd on 9th April 2024 at CMA premises, Colombo 04.

With the signing of this Agreement the CMA passed finalists need only to sit for 3 subjects of CPA-Australia program to obtain a dual qualification of a IFAC Member body which is recognized globally.

Therefore, this will provide ample opportunity to CMA students in reaching their expected goals having a dual qualification in the field of professional management accounting, which is recognized globally.

Together with the distinguished team from the CPA – Australia Ltd., a team of council members and the Management Team of CMA also participated for this event.
