Kind Notification: Change of Date for AGM & Get-Together
Dear Alumni Members,
I hope all of you and your families are safe and well during this challenging period.
Following the concerns raised by our members regarding the suitability of holding the AGM & Get-Together on 4th December amidst the ongoing disaster situation in the country, the Executive Committee met yesterday (30/11/2025) to review the event arrangements with care and responsibility.
After discussing the matter, and in consideration of many of our own alumni and undergraduates being severely affected, the Committee decided to explore a more appropriate date or any alternative solution. Accordingly, we visited the hotel management today and, although the full payment for the previous booking had already been made, the hotel kindly agreed to offer us an alternative date without any additional charges.
We are pleased to inform you that the new date for the AGM & Get-Together will be 28th December 2025 (Sunday). The venue remains the same.
We sincerely apologize for the changes in scheduling, which have become necessary due to the prevailing situation. We kindly request your understanding, and we warmly invite all members to join us on the new date.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

The piece critically examines how fiscal illusion—through hidden subsidies, indirect taxes, and deficit financing—distorts public perception of government spending and highlights the need for greater fiscal transparency and accountability.
