The Institute of Manufacturing Management (IMM) successfully conducted a one-day Smart Industry Readiness Workshop for Vallibel One PLC, engaging TPM Managers, Engineering Managers, and Production Managers representing its subsidiary companies.

The program was designed to build a clear, practical understanding of Smart Industry and Industry 4.0 readiness, enabling leaders to make informed, structured decisions before embarking on digital transformation initiatives.

The workshop covered the definition, frameworks, and key terminologies related to Smart Industry, followed by an in-depth discussion on critical implementation considerations, including financial viability, technological readiness, and social and organizational factors.

Emphasis was placed on the foundational work required before implementing smart solutions, ensuring that TPM, process stability, data discipline, and people capability are firmly established.

Participants were guided through a structured approach to identifying, evaluating, and selecting Smart Industry solutions using a practical selection framework, followed by discussions on implementing selected solutions using adaptive project management techniques. The program also addressed common barriers, challenges, and change-management requirements encountered during the Smart Industry journey.
