The International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem is celebrated every year on 26 July, and aims to raise awareness of the importance of mangrove ecosystems as “a unique, special and vulnerable ecosystem” and to promote solutions for their sustainable management, conservation and uses.

කඩොලාන පරිසර පද්ධතිය සංරක්ෂණය සඳහා වූ ජාත්‍යන්තර දිනය සෑම වසරකම ජූලි 26 දින සමරනු ලබන අතර, කඩොලාන පරිසර පද්ධති "අද්විතීය, විශේෂ සහ අවදානමට ලක්විය හැකි පරිසර පද්ධතියක්" ලෙස වැදගත්කම පිළිබඳව දැනුවත් කිරීම සහ ඒවායේ තිරසාර කළමනාකරණය, සංරක්ෂණය සහ විසඳුම් ප්‍රවර්ධනය කිරීම අරමුණු කරයි.

PLANNING YOUR GARDEN - THINK LIKE A POLLINATOR

Bee Chemical Free- Pesticides and herbicides kill pollinators.
Bee Gentle- Most bees will avoid stinging and use that behavior only in self-defense.
Bee Sunny- Provide areas with sunny, bare soil that's dry and well-drained
Bee Friendly- Create pollinator-frinedly gardens both at home, at schools and in public parks.
Bee Aware- Observe pollinators when you walk outside in nature.
Bee Homey- Make small piles of branches to attach chrysalis or cocoons.
Bee Bountiful- Plant big patches of each plant species
Go Native- Pollinators are "best" adapted to local, native plants, which often need less water than ornamentals.

ලෝක පාංශු දිනය 2022 (දෙසැම්බර් 05)

“ආහාර උපදින්නේ පසෙනි ”
“Soils: Where food begins”

එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ ආහාර හා කෘෂිකර්ම සංවිධානය (United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization) මඟින් පාංශු සම්පත ආරක්ෂා කිරීම සහ තිරසාර ලෙස කළමනාකරණය කිරීමේ අරමුණින් සෑම වසරකම දෙසැම්බර් 05 වන දින ලෝක පාංශු දිනය සමරනු ලැබේ. මෙම දිනය සැමරීම පිළිබඳව ජාත්‍යන්තර පාංශු විද්‍යා සංගමය විසින් ඉදිරිපත් කරන ලද නිර්දේශයන්ට 2013 පැවති එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ ආහාර හා කෘෂිකර්ම සංවිධාන සමුළුවේදී අනුමැතිය ලබාදී ඇත. එමෙන්ම, මෙම දිනය සැමරීම 2013 දෙසැම්බර් මස පැවති 68 වැනි එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ මහා මණ්ඩල සැසියේදී අනුමත කර ඇත. 2014 වර්ෂයේ ප්‍රථම පාංශු දින සැමරුම් උළලේ සිට ගෝලීය පාංශු හවුල්කාරීත්වය (Global Soil Partnership) විසින් පාංශු විශේෂඥයින් සහ මේ පිළිබඳව ඇල්ම දක්වන පුද්ගලයන්ගේ එකමුතුවෙන් එතැන් සිට ගෙවීගිය සෑම වසරකම පාංශු සංරක්ෂණ කාර්යයන් සඳහා දායකත්වය ලබා දී ඇත. ඒ අනුව, සෑම වසරකම විවිධ තේමා ඔස්සේ ලෝක පාංශු දිනය ලොව පුරා සමරනු ලබයි. 2022 වසරේ ලෝක පාංශු දින තේමාව වන්නේ “ආහාර උපදින්නේ පසෙනි ” (Soils: Where food begins) යන්නයි.
