JaGAAS Awards: Honoring Excellence and Contributions
The Japanese Graduates’ Alumni Association of Sri Lanka (JaGAAS) is proud to announce the JaGAAS Awards, which recognize Japanese individuals, organizations, and alumni members who have made significant contributions to Sri Lanka’s economy and society. These prestigious awards celebrate lifelong achievements and impactful initiatives in collaboration with the Japanese community in Sri Lanka.

Award Categories and Descriptions
1. Agriculture & Fisheries
Recognizing outstanding efforts to enhance and modernize the agricultural and fisheries sectors in Sri Lanka, focusing on sustainable practices, technological advancements, and boosting food security and exports.
2. Business Excellence
Celebrating those who have made significant strides in Sri Lanka’s business sector, demonstrating exceptional leadership, innovation, and driving positive economic outcomes in local or international markets.
3. Economic Development
Honoring individuals or organizations that have contributed significantly to the economic growth of Sri Lanka, through trade, investment, policy, or development initiatives that have had a broad impact on the national economy.
4. Education
Recognizing efforts to enhance the education system in Sri Lanka, including contributions to curriculum development, educational technologies, and programs that improve access and quality of education for all.
5. Investment Promotion
This award celebrates initiatives that have successfully attracted and managed foreign or local investments in Sri Lanka, helping to stimulate economic activity, job creation, and sustainable growth.
6. Social & Cultural Development
Acknowledging contributions that have enriched the social and cultural fabric of Sri Lanka, promoting cross-cultural understanding, preservation of heritage, and strengthening societal bonds.
7. Sustainable Development
Recognizing projects and initiatives that focus on sustainable practices in various sectors, helping Sri Lanka achieve its sustainability goals and ensuring a balance between economic growth, environmental care, and social well-being.
8. Sustainable Peace
Honoring individuals or organizations that have worked toward building lasting peace and harmony in Sri Lanka, contributing to reconciliation, conflict resolution, and the promotion of peaceful coexistence.
9. Technological Development
Celebrating advancements and innovations in technology that have positively impacted Sri Lanka’s industries, education, or public services, driving modernization and improving the quality of life for citizens.
10. Transport
This award acknowledges contributions to enhancing Sri Lanka’s transport infrastructure and systems, including projects that improve public transport, road safety, logistics efficiency, and the integration of modern technology.
