Missed our first Sign Language Workshop? Or heard all the amazing feedback and wished you were there? You’re in luck!

Due to the overwhelming response and the incredible number of requests for another session, we’re excited to bring back our Sign Language Workshop – Round 2! 💙

Hosted by the Rotaract Club of CfPS Law School, in collaboration with the Student Council and the Mooting, Mediation & Debating Society (MMDS), this workshop continues our shared mission of promoting inclusion, accessibility, and meaningful communication within our community.

We’re once again honoured to welcome Mr. Asoka Abeysekera. He is a retired educator, an aspiring advocate, and pioneer for the hearing-impaired community in Sri Lanka. His journey from overcoming profound hearing impairment to becoming a teacher, interpreter, and champion for Deaf rights is a powerful reminder that communication has the ability to break barriers and bring people together.

Hands that speak. Hearts that understand. 🤝✨

We took a step towards building a more inclusive community through our Sign Language Awareness Session, organized as a joint collaboration between the Student Council, the Mooting, Mediation and Debating Society (MMDS), and the Rotaract Club of CfPS.

Guided by Mr. Asoka Abeysekera , participants explored the fundamentals of sign language from learning the alphabet and everyday greetings to introducing themselves in sign language. Every sign reminded us that communication goes far beyond spoken words.

A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Asoka Abeysekara for sharing his knowledge and inspiring us to embrace more inclusive ways of communicating. We also extend our sincere thanks to everyone who joined us, actively participated, and helped make this session a truly meaningful experience.

Together, let's continue breaking barriers, one sign at a time. 🤟

From assistants last year to leading the club this year, this incredible team has stood by each other from day one. An amazing, talented group of friends whose bond is the reason we pulled through every challenge that came our way ✨

Together, we planned, worked, lifted each other up, and celebrated the success of our biggest event. Every late night, every hurdle, and every moment in between only made us stronger 💛

Starting from nothing, building from scratch, and now celebrating a successful event together here’s to the journey, the hustle, and the friends who made it all possible.
