A Journey of Discovery, Collaboration & Continuous Improvement 🔄
We recently completed an A3 improvement project with Aitken Spence Power, focusing on reducing the process lead time of an HR-related process.
What made this project particularly rewarding was the enthusiasm, ownership, and active participation of the team throughout the journey.
Rather than jumping straight to solutions, the team worked systematically to understand the process, identify the real causes of delay, and develop practical countermeasures using Lean Six Sigma tools, including:
🔹 SIPOC – to understand the process and its boundaries
🔹 Value Stream Mapping (VSM) – to identify value-added and non-value-added activities
🔹 Fishbone Analysis – to explore and identify root causes
🔹 A3 Problem Solving – to structure the problem, analysis, countermeasures and improvement actions
What stood out was the team's willingness to challenge the current way of working, ask the right questions, and actively contribute to the improvement process.
That is what makes Lean powerful.
Lean is not just about tools.
It is about people, ownership, and creating a culture where problems become opportunities for improvement.
We are excited to see the results of the countermeasures and the sustainable improvements that will follow.
A big thank you to the Aitken Spence Power team for their commitment, openness, and energy throughout the project. 👏
The journey from identifying a problem to creating a better process is where real transformation begins.
