✓1838 දී මැතියස් ශ්ලයිඩන් විසින් ශාකයක මූලික ඒකකය සෛලය බවත්,
✓1839දී තියඩෝර් ෂ්වාන් විසින් සතුන්ගේ මූලික ඒකකය සෛලය බවත්,
ප්රකාශ කරන ලදී.
ඒ අනුව එම කරුණු උපයෝගී කර ගනිමින් සෛල වාදය ගොඩනගන ලදී.එහි මූලික කරුණු තුනකි.
*ජීවීන්ගේ මූලික ව්යූහමය සහ කෘත්යමය ඒකකය සෛලය යි.
*සියලුම ජීවීන් එක සෛලයකින් හෝ සෛල කිහිපයකින් සෑදී ඇත.
*සියලුම සෛල ඇති වන්නේ කලින් පැවති සෛල විභාජනයෙනි.

Accordingly, using these facts, cell theory was developed.There are three basic facts.
*The basic structural and functional unit of life is the cell.
*All living things are made up of one cell or several cells.
*All cells originate from the previous cell division.
