𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫 𝐨𝐧 𝐉𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 🇯🇵🇱🇰

The 3rd Research Seminar of the Association for Japanese Language Education Overseas (KG-NK), was successfully conducted on the 7th and 8th of March 2026 at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages, under the theme of "Weaving Japanese Language Education Across Borders".

We are honored to be the logistical supporter for the seminar, which was held for the second time outside Japan in the association's fourteen-year history.

𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐆𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐬:
The occasion was graced by the presence of:
🔹 Prof. Ryushi Mihara – Ryukoku University, President of the Association for Japanese Language Education Overseas
🔹 Dr. Katsuyuki Arai – Asahi University, Vice-President of the same association
The conference was further enriched by the participation of:
🔹 Prof. Yuko Yamato – Osaka University, Japan
🔹 Prof. Prabath Kanduboda – Ritsumeikan University, Japan
🔹 Dr. Samanthika Lokugamage – Senior Lecturer in Japanese, University of Sri Jayawardenapura
🔹 Dr. Udara De Silva – Senior Lecturer in Japanese, University of Kelaniya
🔹 Ms. Hong Pham – Lecturer in Japanese, Vietnam National University, Hanoi

The most captivating item was the Poster Presentations done by the 4th year undergraduates of the Japanese Studies program at the Department of Languages, SUSL.

The Seminar served as an excellent platform for scholarly exchange and professional networking among researchers, educators and undergraduates in the field of Japanese Language Education. This Seminar has contributed immensely in strengthening the longstanding friendship and cultural ties between Japan and Sri Lanka.
