Huge congratulations to our talented students from Zahira College, Anuradhapura, for proudly representing the school at the Sri Lanka Schools' Individual Chess Championship 2026 – Anuradhapura Zonal level!

Competing with remarkable dedication, strategic thinking, and true sportsmanship, the student delivered an excellent performance during the two-day tournament held at President's College, Anuradhapura, on 6th and 7th June 2026.

In celebration of World Environment Day, our students actively participated in a school clean-up campaign to promote a cleaner and healthier environment.

As part of the day's activities, a tree planting programme was also conducted, encouraging students to contribute towards a greener and more sustainable future.

These activities helped raise awareness among students about the importance of protecting and preserving our environment for future generations.

A special meeting regarding the “Surakkum Pawwa” programme, which aims to protect school students in Sri Lanka from harassment and harmful influences, was held today at our school.

The meeting was conducted under the leadership of the Principal with the participation of Deputy Principals, SDC members, OBA members, and student leaders. The programme was guided by the Officer-in-Charge of the Police Station, Mr. Basnayake (IP).

During the discussion, special attention was given to the implementation of an anti-drug and student protection programme at the school level.

The importance of working together to create a safe, disciplined, and healthy educational environment for students was strongly emphasized.

The Football Federation donated 03 FIFA footballs to our school following the request made by Mr. P.T. Rifas, a member of the School Development Society, with the aim of encouraging and improving students’ sports activities.

The footballs were officially handed over during the morning assembly. The teachers in charge of sports and the coache involved in sports activities received the footballs on behalf of the students.

We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed towards supporting the sporting development of our students.

எமது பாடசாலையின் தரம் 01 தொடக்கம் 05 வரையிலான ஆரம்பப்பிரிவு மாணவர்களுக்கான மாணவர் மன்றம் இன்றைய தினம் சிறப்பாக நடைபெற்றது.

மாணவர்களின் திறமைகள், ஒழுக்கம், தலைமைத்துவம் மற்றும் ஒற்றுமை உணர்வுகளை மேம்படுத்தும் வகையில் இந்நிகழ்வு அமைந்திருந்தது. மாணவர்கள் ஆர்வத்துடனும் மகிழ்ச்சியுடனும் கலந்து கொண்டு நிகழ்வை சிறப்பித்தனர்.

A felicitation ceremony was held this morning during the assembly to honor the outstanding service and dedication of several members of our school community in the year 2025.

Our Deputy Principal, Mr. R.M. Dilshad, was appreciated for his excellent contribution towards school development and management activities. Teachers Mrs. I.N. Risliya, Mrs. A.J.P. Janoosha, and Miss S.M. Anushiya were recognized for their dedicated and skillful service in educational activities. Appreciation was also extended to Mrs. H. Thamara Kumari De Silva and Mrs. A.P. Risviya for their commendable service in office administration, and to minor staff member Mr. W.A. Gunarathna Bandara for his continuous support and commitment to the school.

During the event, tokens of appreciation were presented and they were honored for their valuable contributions.
