🧠 Empowering Students Through Active Learning: Direct & Indirect Speech

This week, I gave my students an opportunity to move beyond worksheets and dive into active learning by mastering Direct and Indirect Speech through real-time conversion and role-play.

Instead of simply memorizing rules, students worked in pairs to transform dialogues, report conversations, and even act out scenarios where they had to switch between quoting someone directly and paraphrasing their message.

🔁 The result?
Deeper understanding, better retention, and noticeably more confidence in both spoken and written communication.

Active learning transforms grammar from a set of dry rules into a living, breathing tool for expression. When students use language rather than just label it, they truly own it.
