I still remember the beginning.

A small idea in a rural classroom.
No big system. No guarantees. Just a belief:

If we make reading meaningful, children will naturally fall in love with English.

Today, that small idea has grown into Smart Readers Club - a reading movement that is shaping how children learn, read, and build confidence in English across Sri Lanka. 📖🌍

What makes this journey truly powerful is not the numbers…
but the transformation:

✨ Parents who never imagined progress are seeing daily improvement
✨ Teachers are becoming facilitators of joy, not just lessons

This is no longer just a program.
It has become a learning movement driven by students themselves.

සාම්ප්‍රදායික අධ්‍යාපනයෙන් ඔබ්බට ගිහින් දරුවන්ට ස්ව කැමැත්තෙන් ඉංග්‍රීසි ඉගෙන ගන්න හදපු ලංකාවේ විශාලතම කියවීමේ ළමා සමාජය Smart Readers Club ඩිජිටල්කරණය වෙලා හරියටම අවුරුද්දයි..

2025 මැයි 3 වෙනිදා තමයි අපේ smarteglish lk Learning platform එක මුලු ලංකාවේම දරුවන් වෙනුවෙන් නිකුත් කලේ.

අවුරුද්දක් ඇතුලත අපි ලබාගත් ප්‍රගතිය අති විශාලයි. දරුවන් කීප දෙනෙකුගෙන් පටන් අරන් අද වෙනකොට දරුවන් අති විශාල සංඛ්‍යාවක් දිනපතා භාවිතා කරන ලංකාවේ හොඳම LMS (Learning Management System) එකක් බවට පත් වෙන්න අපට පුලුවන් වෙලා තිබෙනවා. ඒ වගේම දරුවන්ට අභිප්‍රේරණය තුලින් ඉගැන්වීමේ උපක්‍රම අති විශාල ප්‍රමාණයක් මුලු ලෝකයටම අපට හඳුන්වා දෙන්න පුලුවන් උනා.

අද වනවිට දරුවන්ට පමණක් නොවේ ඉංග්‍රීසි ගුරුවරුන්ට, අධ්‍යාපන ආයතන වලටත් තමන්ගේ පන්තිවල දරුවන්ට ලබාදියහැකි Value Addition එකක් විදිහට අපේ Readers Club එක අපි හඳුන්වා දෙනවා.

Smart Readers Club කියන්නේ හරි අමුතුම වැඩක්.මේක දරුවා දැනට ඉගෙන ගන්න ඉංග්‍රීසි ගුරුවරයා වෙනුවට විකල්පයක් නෙමෙයි.ටියුෂන් පන්තියකුත් නෙමෙයි. වෙනස්ම සංකල්පයක්. දරුවන් ඉංග්‍රීසි ඉගෙන ගන්න ගමන් ඒක භාවිතා කරවන්න හදපු දෙයක්. හැම මාසෙකම දෙමාපියන් විසින් සාමාජික ගාස්තු ලෙස ගෙවන මුදල් වක්‍රාකාරයෙන් නැවත දරුවන්ටම ලැබෙන ආකාරයට තමයි අපි මේක ඉතා සංකීර්ණව සහ ක්‍රමානුකූලව හදලා තියෙන්නේ. ඉතාම අවම මුදලක් මාසික සාමාජික ගාස්තු ලෙස අරගෙන ඒක තෑගි විදිහට නැවතත් දරුවන්ටම ලබාදීලා එයාලව ස්වාභිප්‍රේරණය කරනවා. ඒ ක්‍රියාදාමය තුල දරුවන් ඉතා වෙනස් විදිහේ ඉගෙනුම් අද්දැකීම් ලබනවා. මේක ලංකාවට විතරක් නෙමේ, මුලු ලෝකෙටම හඳුන්වා දුන් වෙනස්ම සංකල්පයක්.

මේක හරියට තේරුම් ගත්ත දරුවන් සහ දෙමාපියන් Club එකෙන් උපරිම ප්‍රයෝජන ගනිමින් සිටිනවා.

අද ලංකාව පුරාම විසිරිලා ඉන්න දරුවන් දහස් ගණනක් මේකෙන් inspire වෙලා ඉන්නවා.ගමේ ඉස්කෝලේ, නගරේ ඉස්කෝලේ, රජයේ පාසල්, ජාත්‍යන්තර පාසල්, සිංහල, මුස්ලිම් ,දෙමල මේ හැම දරුවෙක්ම අපේ club එකේ ඉන්නවා.ඒ හැමෝම ඉංග්‍රීසි භාශාව ආසාවෙන් භාවිතා කරනවා. ඒ වගේම ලංකාවේ පමණක් නොවේ ජාත්‍යන්තර අවධානය පවා දැන් මේකට යොමු වෙලා තියන බව අපි මතක් කරන්නේ නිහතමානී ආඩම්බරයකින්.

අපේ සාමාජික දරුවන් ඉංග්‍රීසි වලින් ඔබ්බට ගිහින් 21වන සියවසේ කුසලතා , IT සාක්ෂරතාව සහ මූල්‍ය සාක්ෂරතාව වර්ධනය වගේ කුසලතා රාශියක් ඔප්නංවා ගන්නවා.

මේ අපේ පටන් ගැන්ම පමණයි. අපිට ගොඩාක් දුර යන්න තිබෙනවා. අපේ අරමුණ දරුවන්ට ගුණාත්මක අධ්‍යාපන අත්දැකීම් ලබා දීම.

මෙම කර්තව්‍ය සාර්ථක කරගන්න අපිත් එක්ක හැමදාම ඉන්න දරුවන් , දෙමාපියන්, ගුරුවරුන්, ආදරණීය හිත මිතුරන්, ආයතන ඇතුලු සියලුම දෙනා ඉතාම ආදරයෙන් මතක් කරනවා.

අපි හැමදාම දරුවන්ට හොඳම දේ දෙමු ❤️

Going beyond traditional education, Smart Readers Club — Sri Lanka’s largest children’s reading community created to help kids learn English willingly — has now completed exactly one year since becoming a digital platform.

On May 3, 2025, we officially launched the SmartEnglish lk Learning Platform for children all across Sri Lanka.

Within just one year, the progress we have achieved is truly remarkable. Starting with only a few children, today we have grown into one of the best Learning Management Systems (LMS) in Sri Lanka, used daily by a large number of students. At the same time, we have introduced a wide range of motivation-based teaching methods to the world.
Today, not only children, but also English teachers and educational institutions use our Readers Club as a valuable addition to their classrooms.

Smart Readers Club is something truly unique. It is not a replacement for a child’s English teacher, nor is it a tuition class. It is a completely different concept designed to help children use English while they learn it.

We have carefully and systematically designed this system so that the monthly membership fee paid by parents is indirectly returned to the children. By charging only a minimal fee and giving it back as rewards and gifts, we motivate children in a meaningful way. Through this process, children gain a completely different learning experience. This is not just for Sri Lanka it is a unique concept introduced to the whole world.
Children and parents who truly understand this system are gaining maximum benefits from the Club.

Today, thousands of children across Sri Lanka are inspired by this platform. From village schools to city schools, government schools to international schools, Sinhala, Muslim, and Tamil communities — children from all backgrounds are part of our club. And they all use English with confidence and enjoyment.

We are also proud to say, with humility, that this initiative is now gaining international attention.
Our members go beyond just learning English — they develop essential 21st-century skills, including IT literacy and financial literacy.

This is only our beginning. We still have a long journey ahead. Our mission is to provide children with high-quality educational experiences.
We sincerely thank all the children, parents, teachers, well-wishers, and institutions who continuously support us in making this mission a success.
