CHULA x NTU 2026 🌊
Bangkok, 20 May 2026 — Chulalongkorn University officially launched the CHULA x NTU 2026 Academic Cooperation Programme, welcoming twenty students and faculty from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. Themed "Bio-Inspired Materials for Marine Ecosystem Resilience and Restoration," the eight-day programme (20–26 May) brings together forty students from both universities.

🏛️ Opening Ceremony
The day began with a campus tour and Opening Ceremony, presided over by Assist. Prof. Dr. Narapong Srivisal, Assistant to the President for Student Affairs. Prof. Dr. Voranop Viyakarn, Director of the Aquatic Resources Research Institute, set the scientific tone — urging action against the rapid degradation of coral reefs, seagrass beds, and mangroves across Southeast Asia.

💡 Design Thinking Workshop
Dr. Fong Wen Mei (Eileen) from NTU's School of Materials Science and Engineering led mixed student teams through human-centred problem-framing, sparking innovative ideas at the crossroads of materials engineering and marine conservation.

🎓 Expert Lectures
Two powerful talks rounded out the day:
Prof. Dr. Suchana Chavanich shared cutting-edge research on heat-resistant coral strains that could help reef ecosystems survive rising ocean temperatures.
Dr. Nithiwach Nawaukkaratharnant explored sustainable, bio-compatible materials as structural supports for coral growth — a breakthrough field merging engineering with reef restoration.

Chulalongkorn University has officially announced the opening of applications for the Chula LINK Scholarship 2026, a funding program aimed at attracting talented international students to pursue graduate studies in Thailand.

The scholarship—formally known as Chulalongkorn Leaders in International Networks and Knowledge (LINK)—is available for the first semester of the 2026 academic year and supports students enrolling in master’s or doctoral programs at the university.

The application period runs from March 20 to May 24, 2026.

CMC University Delegation Visits Chulalongkorn University for Academic Exchange

Bangkok, April 20, 2025 — A delegation from CMC University (CMCU), Vietnam's first digital university, paid an official visit to Chulalongkorn University (Chula) today, April 20, 2025, for a campus tour and a series of cultural and academic exchange activities.
The delegation, comprising 15 students and one staff member, was warmly welcomed by Associate Professor Dr. Pakorn Varanusupakul, Assistant to the President of Chulalongkorn University. The welcoming ceremony was followed by a souvenir presentation and group photography, after which both sides engaged in university introduction sessions and collaborative learning activities designed to foster mutual understanding and academic ties.

Chulalongkorn University students then guided the CMCU delegation on a tour of the university's key landmarks, concluding with a commemorative photo session at the Two Reigns Monument (Anusawari Song Ratchakan), one of the university's most iconic historical sites.

Objectives of the Visit
The visit was carried out with the following proposed objectives:
To explore opportunities for strengthening collaboration between CMC University and Chulalongkorn University
To foster cultural exchange among students
To participate in a campus tour and gain insights into the academic environment and student life at Chulalongkorn University
