🪣💙 Filling Buckets at VFPS! 💙🪣

Today, our amazing staff at VFPS took part in an inspiring Bucket Filler Workshop facilitated by Mrs. Gillian Khodra and supported by Ms. Kisna and Ms. Charles. It focused on building kindness, positivity, encouragement, and meaningful connections within our school community.

Through engaging activities and thoughtful discussions, we explored how our words and actions can either fill someone’s bucket with positivity or empty it. Most importantly, we were reminded that every small act of kindness can make a big difference. 💫

We are excited to take what we learned beyond the workshop and continue creating a school environment where everyone feels valued, supported, appreciated, and encouraged. 💙

Learning doesn’t always have to look like learning!✨

This afternoon was one of those special times when we gave our students a chance to unwind, have fun, and simply enjoy themselves… while secretly sneaking in a little learning along the way! 😉💡

Through laughter, teamwork, creativity, and a whole lot of fun, our students were engaged, learning, and making wonderful memories without even realizing just how much they were learning. ❤️

Because sometimes, the best lessons happen when children are having fun! 🌟

When you meet someone who is so driven to push positivity into our little ones at Vieux Fort Primary, it comes as no surprise that he then becomes the most qualified in his field. To Coach Leo, hats off to you for developing and transforming the cycling world particularly at our school with our students-your achievement is noteworthy to say the least. Congratulations!

Today, we conducted our first fire drill! 🔥🚨

Safety is everyone’s responsibility!

Being prepared at VFPS helps ensure we know what to do in an emergency. A successful drill is an important step toward keeping everyone safe.

Thank you to all staff who made sure our students were in check. Hats off to the Safety Committee!

Special gratitude to Officers Lafeuille and St. Rose from the Fire Service Department who not only monitored the drill, but also did an entire walk through and assessment of our needs at VFPS.

We are always happy to receive visitors at our school. As you would have seen in our previous posts this week, a number of our past students dropped by. Today was no exception- Sharbel and O'Shea, two of our top CPEA performers also joined with a brief visit.
..and of course, our District Education Officer has been with us as well.

📚✨ District 6 Reading Competition 2020

Today, District 6 hosted its Reading Competition for Grade 3 students, and we are thrilled to celebrate the achievements of our very own Ava, who proudly earned 3rd Place! 🏆👏

A special thank you goes to Ms. Collis for her dedication, guidance, and training, which helped Ava shine on this stage.

We also extend our sincere thanks to District 6 for providing this wonderful opportunity for our young readers to showcase their talents and love of reading.

Reading Month Activity | Character Day & Reading Treasure Hunt

What a fantastic way to celebrate Reading Month!

On Friday, our school came alive for Character Day as students and teachers dressed up as their favorite book and story characters. The creativity, enthusiasm, and attention to detail were truly impressive! From beloved storybook characters to the unforgettable Addams Family everyone played their part in making the day extra special.

Adding even more excitement to the festivities was our surprise guest, Mrs. Grinch, who arrived ready to stir things up and keep our readers on their toes! Her lively performance had students laughing, engaged, and thoroughly entertained throughout.

As if that wasn't enough, students also took part in a thrilling Reading Treasure Hunt, racing around the school reading clues, solving puzzles, and working together to uncover the hidden treasure. The energy was contagious as teams eagerly followed each clue to the next exciting discovery.

A heartfelt thank you to Frejhan Jn Baptiste for bringing Mrs. Grinch to life and delivering such an amazing show. Your enthusiasm helped make the day one to remember! Special thanks to the parents who were able to have their child join in the character wear.

From costumes and characters to clues and treasures, it was a day filled with laughter, learning, imagination, and a love for reading.
