Reading Month Activity | Character Day & Reading Treasure Hunt
What a fantastic way to celebrate Reading Month!
On Friday, our school came alive for Character Day as students and teachers dressed up as their favorite book and story characters. The creativity, enthusiasm, and attention to detail were truly impressive! From beloved storybook characters to the unforgettable Addams Family everyone played their part in making the day extra special.
Adding even more excitement to the festivities was our surprise guest, Mrs. Grinch, who arrived ready to stir things up and keep our readers on their toes! Her lively performance had students laughing, engaged, and thoroughly entertained throughout.
As if that wasn't enough, students also took part in a thrilling Reading Treasure Hunt, racing around the school reading clues, solving puzzles, and working together to uncover the hidden treasure. The energy was contagious as teams eagerly followed each clue to the next exciting discovery.
A heartfelt thank you to Frejhan Jn Baptiste for bringing Mrs. Grinch to life and delivering such an amazing show. Your enthusiasm helped make the day one to remember! Special thanks to the parents who were able to have their child join in the character wear.
From costumes and characters to clues and treasures, it was a day filled with laughter, learning, imagination, and a love for reading.

Reading Month Activity | Pajama Day at Vieux Fort Primary
What better way to celebrate Reading Month than by getting cozy with a good book?
Our students and staff embraced the spirit of Pajama Day, arriving in their favorite pajamas and settling in with stories that sparked imagination, adventure, and learning. From picture books to exciting chapter books, everyone enjoyed the simple pleasure of curling up and reading.
The day reminded us that reading can happen anywhere—and that some of the best reading moments are the coziest ones!
📚 Reading Month Activity | Reading Reimagined
As part of our Reading Month celebrations, our students, Mackenzee and Karm had the wonderful opportunity to visit Lions Pre School and spend quality time with the little ones through the joy of reading.
Watching our students share stories, spark imaginations, and inspire a love for books was truly heartwarming. Reading is more than a skill—it is a gateway to learning, creativity, and connection.
Thank you to the Lions Pre School family for welcoming us and allowing our students to make a meaningful impact through literacy.
Together, we are nurturing a lifelong love of reading—one story at a time.
Reading Reimagined...our students shared their love of reading with the staff and residents of Comfort Bay.

This year’s Reading Month theme, “Reading Reimagined,” has truly taken a step in the right direction at Vieux Fort Primary School! 📚
To encourage our students to dive into the world of reading, we have set up “Outdoor Libraries” where students can enjoy books even during break and lunch periods. It is wonderful to see our boys taking the lead and embracing the joy of reading. 👏✨
Great job, boys! Let us continue to find innovative and exciting ways to inspire our children to read more and develop a lifelong love for books. ❤️📖
Today, we continued our Reading Month activities at Vieux Fort Primary School! 📚✨
Students were treated to an engaging storytelling session by Theatre Arts teacher from Beanefield Comprehensive School, Ms. Leona Sandiford. She certainly did not disappoint as she theatrically brought to life the folk stories “Compere Lapin and the Mango Tree” and “Papa Bois Protects the Forest.” 🌳🐇
What a joy it was for our students to hear these amazing folk stories told with such passion and creativity! Thank you, Ms. Sandiford, for making today’s activity both educational and memorable. ❤️
It’s Reading Month, and we’re off to a wonderful start! 📚✨
Two of our Grade 3 students and two of our Grade 4 students took time to read to the students at the Special Education Centre. What a proud moment for everyone involved!
Great job, Cora, Nama, Bryan, and Jervonnie 👏💙
A big thank you to the Special Education Centre for welcoming us and sharing in the joy of reading.
