On Friday, May 15th, our students enjoyed a fun-filled Crazy Socks and Movie Day as part of our Reading Month activites.
We started the morning with a special visit from our reigning Carnival Queen, Ms. Alani Prospere, who shared engaging stories with our students. Her visit encouraged a love for reading and brought excitement to our students.
In the afternoon, students lay on their comfortable blankets for the Movie Day and watched GOAT. The movie carried a powerful message, reminding our students to dream big, believe in themselves, and embrace their unique abilities. It was an inspiring experience that left everyone smiling.
Of course, no movie day would be complete without popcorn 🍿 Our students thoroughly enjoyed their treats while watching the movie and spending time with their peers.
Together, we continue to show our students that reading, learning, and believing in themselves can open the door to endless possibilities.

On May 12th, Mrs. Marie Nelson visited our Centre and captivated our students with the reading of folk stories. Her storytelling brought the stories to life and encouraged our students to appreciate the richness of our culture and traditions.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Mrs. Marie Nelson, the Grade 2 students, and their teacher Ms. Francois from the Soufriere Infant School for taking the time to visit and read to our students. Your kindness, support, and love for literacy helped make our Reading Month activities meaningful and memorable.

On Friday, May 8th, we hosted our “Read to Me Mommy Day” at the Soufriere Special Education and Rehabilitation Centre. One mother from each class came in to read to their child’s classmates, and a female teacher from the Soufriere Infant School, who is also a mother, kindly stepped in to participate as well.
As a token of our appreciation, each Mother received a certificate of appreciation and a small treat to remind them how valued and appreciated they are for all that they do.
It turned out to be a wonderful Friday filled with reading, music, laughter, and special moments together. Thank you to all the amazing mothers and mother figures who continue to support, encourage, and inspire our students each day.🙂🙂🙂🙂
