| As part of the Accelerating a Sustainable Blue Economy in the Caribbean (BLUECAR) project’s ongoing stakeholder engagement, the Global Green Growth Institute - GGGI Eastern Caribbean held bilateral discussions with the Ministry of Tourism Saint Lucia and the Water and Sewerage Company Inc. WASCO on September 15, 2026. The engagements provided an opportunity to explore sector priorities related to the blue economy, strengthen project information and discuss potential blue economy initiatives aligned with Saint Lucia’s national development objectives and its Blue Bond Framework.

Through BLUECAR, GGGI supports government-led efforts to build a credible pipeline of investment-ready blue economy projects.

Funded by the Korea New Green Deal Trust Fund, BLUECAR reinforces GGGI’s role as a trusted green growth partner—connecting technical expertise, institutional priorities and sustainable finance to help transform promising ideas into impactful investments.

| Accelerating a Sustainable Blue Economy in the Caribbean project – also known as BLUECAR was launched in Saint Lucia on September 16, 2026. BLUECAR is a regional initiative led by Global Green Growth Institute - GGGI to help develop high-impact blue economy projects.

The Ministry of Economic Development and Youth Economy of Saint Lucia supported the event, which brought together participants from various government agencies and stakeholders from the country’s private and financial sectors. Participants validated the findings through an interactive assessment process, prioritizing blue economy projects based on their strategic importance, national alignment, potential impact and readiness for further development.

Implemented by GGGI and funded by the Korea New Green Deal Trust Fund, BLUECAR supports the Government of Saint Lucia in developing a stronger pipeline of investment-ready projects while building institutional capacity and investor confidence.

This collaborative process aligns with GGGI’s mission to support its members in transforming their economies into a green growth economic model.

📢 GGGI is seeking a Public Finance Officer to support climate finance and sustainable investment in the .

The role will support the coordination and implementation of the GCF Readiness Programme, led by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, with technical support from .

The Public Finance Officer will provide technical assistance to the Government of the Dominican Republic to strengthen public finance processes and integrate climate, environmental, disaster-risk, gender and social inclusion considerations into investment planning, budgeting, appraisal, monitoring and reporting.

🔎Key Requirements:

✔️ Bachelor’s and advanced degree in economics, finance, public administration, sustainable development or a related field

✔️ At least 5 years of professional experience in public finance

✔️ Experience in sustainable finance is an asset

✔️ Fluency in English and Spanish
