Another aspect of celebrating International Women's Day, on Friday 7th March, Ms. Inglis, our behaviour support teacher, invited a group that she is a member, Soroptomist International Sent Lisi, to make a special presentation to our grade sixers. All 89 grade sixers received care pouches.
It included a guide which gives step by step instructions on how to care for themselves during their menstral cycle, the proper use and disposal of sanitary napkins.
The girls were beaming with excitement about the hygiene pouches especially the 'touch up' items like the lip balms, edge brushes and gel.
It was an educational and fun lecture for them, led by the president of the club Dr. Charmaine Hippolyte Emmanuel.
Soroptomist Internatiinal Sent Lisi's mission is to transform the lives and status of women and girls through education, empowerment and enabling opportunities.
A hearty thank you to Ms. Inglis and the members of this club for their wonderful and timely gesture towards our grade six girls.
Let's continue to help them PLANT, GROW, BLOOM, BOOM!!

On Friday 7th March, the infant and primary schools gathered to celebrate International Womem's Day, under theme For All Women and Girls: Rights, Equality and Empowerment. All girls, female teachers and female auxillary staff were celebrated and honored. The guest speaker, Mrs. Davadile Bernard, a parent of the school, inspired, encouraged and motivated the girls on how to persevere and achieve their goals growing up as girls in the society.
The female teachers and auxillary staff were pinned by the male teachers and received a special token. The male teachers played special roles during the assembly to ensure the female members of staff received their much deserved recognition and acknowledgement. The event could not end without the serenading of the girls and female teachers by the most popular saxophonist Mr. Deland St. Juste, who performed the song Strength of a Woman.
Happy International Women's Day to all the brilliant and resilient girls and ladies of the Ave Maria Girls' School. BOOM!!

Students and teachers of both the infant and primary schools, gathered at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception for Ash Wednesday service. Father Michel, the officiating priest, was highly engaging with the girls as he explained the purpose of lent. Students were able to identify the three pillars (tripod) of lent - praying, fasting and almsgiving.
Father challenged the students to make a $1 sacrifice each day, and collectively, either as a class or school, donations can be made towards a worthy cause/home.
Students and teachers received their ashes as they sung songs of worship.
The principal, staff and teachers would like to wish Father Quinlan, our parish priest, who is unwell, speedy recovery and God's healing mercies.
Let us all use this lentern season to reflect and repent of our transgressions.
God is good, all the time.

The main goal of the visit was for those selected students, to be inspired and encouraged, to embrace their God given talent and to persevere to reach their optimum potential in that area. They learnt that they can aspire to become great artist.
The students returned filled with much excitement and motivation.

On Tuesday 18th February, students of the Ave Maria Girls' School, turned out to show their national pride as they witnessed the exchange of the National Baton for Castries Central. Students were decked out in t-shirts and ribbons in colors of the flag, waving the St. Lucian flag high in the true spirit of patriotism.
It was an atmosphere filled with festivity, excitement and jubilation.
A group of Grade 6 students performed a dignified, patriotic dance to the song HELEN, sung by local artists, Rashad Joseph, Michael Robinson, Teddyson John, KAYO, Curmiah Lysette and Tori Elle.
The National Baton Relay has become a much anticipated event for students of the Ave Maria Girls' School, who participates every year, as the island celebrates St. Lucia's Independence Anniversary.

At the Ave Maria Girls' Primary School our buddy bench has been in full effect and kindness is sprinkled in classrooms with mini kindness corners. With the buddy ambassadors challenge we decided to upgrade our buddy area and incorporated our 2025 school's theme: PLANT, GROW, BLOOM....BOOM! by using Hearts, Flowers, Smileys, Cheerful Notes and kindness quotes to uplift our corner. In this way we continue to encourage the sharing of kindness.

Ave is proud to have an up-and-coming, young sailor by the name of Kaylee Louis. She is a member of the Rodney Bay Yacht Club, where she has competed at her level and has done exceedingly well so far.
Kaylee will be travelling to Martinique next week along with her other team mates to participate in a competition. Her proud grandmother introduced her to this sport at a tender age, where she accompanied her to the Yacht Club where she works.
The Ave Marie family wishes Kaylee all the best, as she continues on her journey in becoming an outstanding sailor.
Each task well done, Kaylee!!
