Christmas is the spirit of giving without a thought of getting. It is happiness because we see joy in people. It is forgetting self and finding time for others. Itโ€™s discarding the meaningless and stressing the true values.โ€ โ€“ Thomas S. Monson

For the second year, our Form 2 and 3 year group distributed 50 meals to underprivileged families in the community of Gros Islet, as part of the schoolโ€™s Christmas good turn activity. The initiative was very well recieved by all who received meals.

This would not be possible without our supportive parents. So to you parents we say a huge THANK YOU. Special thanks to the teachers and students who assisted in the preparation and distribution and Mr.David Moise, Social Transformation Officer of Gros Islet, and his team for providing us with a list of families who were in need of assistance.

CHRISTMAS IS THE SEASON OF GIVING. LET US GIVE BACK WHOLE HEARTEDLY. FOR GOD LOVES A CHEERFUL GIVER.๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ„

Yesterday the Form 1 year group embarked on a hamper drive as part of their good turn activity. The students distributed to the elderly in an age where they are sometimes forgotten.
The experience was quite emotional for students who took a lesson on humility and appreciation for the vulnerable among us.
The students sang to and interacted with the ladies. It was truly a rewarding experience and the families were eternally thankful for the contribution.
Special thanks to our parents, teachers, year head and the social transformation officers for making this happen.

The Saint Lucia Sports Academy Football team is the beneficiary of an excellent initiative by Mr. Eden Justin from the Across D Miles Foundation based in the UK. A foundation focused on gifting with love. The foundation donated football uniforms to the SLSA as well as two other community teams in St.Lucia. We at the SLSA are extremely grateful for this contribution. Special thanks to the organizers for considering us. We look forward to building a relationship with the foundation for the benefit of our students.

The strong year for SLSA Javelin thrower Naya Jules continues.

She joins five other athletes representing Saint Lucia at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad on August 4th to 11th.

Naya's year started with successful meets in Martinique and at home. She qualified for CARIFTA in the womens pole vault (and brought home Saint Lucia's only Gold Medal from the Games).

She was added to the womens U-17 Javelin at CARIFTA and smashed her personal best by almost 5m (earning a Bronze medal, her second medal of the Games).

In May, Naya won her event at the Whitsuntide Games in Grenada, and set a new meet record in the Womens Under-17 Javelin.

She is also scheduled for service this month at the Windward Islands Games.

Good luck to Naya as she aims to keep pushing her boundaries in the latter stages of the season.
