Better known as Prince Richie, Nicholas George got into the baking business in Derniere Riviere, Dennery, nearly 40 years ago. Now he services multiple communities and has a significant staff complement, to which he recently added an apprentice baker.

SLCTVET, in collaboration with Department of Commerce, Saint Lucia, Bakers Association Inc., and National Skills Development Centre, with support from Local Engagement and Action Fund - LEAF, is empowering more than two dozen young people with certified, on-the-job training through the Careers in the Baking Industry programme.

Dane Albert of Bruno's Bakery in Union, Castries, signed up for the Careers in the Baking Industry (CIBI) Apprenticeship Programme, and he has been loving every minute of it. He gets to share his years of experience with young people who have a passion for baking and a genuine thirst for knowledge.
