May was celebrated as Reading Month under the theme ‘Reading Reimagined’.
Here’s an idea of how we celebrated.
We started off the month with a very engaging assembly led by the teachers and students of Grade 6.
We re-established a little library where students were tasked to be the librarians. They organized, recorded and they could even be heard asking questions about the book that was being returned.
We launched a book drive to boost up the class libraries.
Various persons came to read on a school, grade and class level.
Ministry of Agriculture staff read stories on indigenous animals and then showcased the animals to the students.
Reading Month was a success!
World Caring Day 2026
In observance of World Caring Day, the Ministry of Equity partnered the Canon Laurie Anglican Primary School with the Marian Home to spread kindness and compassion to our elderly citizens.
Our Buddy Ambassadors enthusiastically embraced the challenge, visiting the residents with treats, smiles and cheerful hearts. The joy shared during the visit was truly heartwarming and the residents warmly welcomed the opportunity for fellowship and conversation. The residents sang hymns and songs with the students.
We are proud of our students for demonstrating that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference. Thank you to everyone who helped make this experience a meaningful one for our Buddy Ambassadors.
Yesterday we celebrated World Environment Day!
Students were clad in various shades of green. Awareness of the importance of the day was shared during assembly by Mr. Sydney.
Students brought in a variety of plants and Mrs. F. Alexander and Mrs. King supervised and participated in the planting exercise.
The entire performance was recorded by Miss Lucien. Please excuse the background distractions as Miss was in the crowd. Enjoy!
Unique begs the important and relevant question..’What Should I Do?’
