Want to take the time out to compliment and say bravo 👏👏👏 to the Principal, Teachers, Staff Members and any other individuals of the Camille Henry Memorial School. The transition of this unfamiliar and unusual virtual learning for both students and parents has been made much easier due to the exemplary work put in by all of you mentioned above. I want you to know that you are seen and you are valued. You may not be listed as essential workers. But you are essential. So much work goes in teaching under typical circumstances but teaching during this corona virus pandemic is so far from typical. It’s literally nothing school systems have ever done before but you all faced this challenge head on.

You’re learning new ways of presenting information and trying to make it so that all students can access it. You’re figuring out what teaching looks like when “school” has become “schooling.”

My husband and I are doing our best to support our son’s at-home learning, but in no way do we consider this “homeschooling.” We're simply supervising, but you, the teachers of Camille Henry Memorial School, are doing the heavy lifting. I always understood how hard teaching is, being in a classroom with 25 plus pupils all from different social and economic backgrounds. I’m happy that other parents are getting a peek at seeing how much work goes into it. I truly hope that once we have returned to some sort of "normalcy", that we parents will have more respect for your profession and support you in developing our children.

“But my teacher doesn’t do it that way!” Many of us as parents have heard that and we know you’ve made a lasting impression.

To Kwan's teacher, Mrs. Jn Pierre, I say thank you. I have expressed my thanks personally and I would like to do it publicly. I am aware of the the many difficulties you had in utilizing Google Classroom, but that never deterred you. You kept at it, sourced assistance until you were able to understand it. Thank you, thank you and thank you.

It is amazing that though students of Camille Henry Memorial School are learning from home, emphasis is still placed on developing holistic students. In addition to the usual Mathematics, English and Science subjects, an entire website was built so students could have access to the Specialist Subject. https://chmsspecialistsubjects.weebly.com/

Thank you once again to the ALL the staff at Camille Henry Memorial School and by extension all the teachers in St. Lucia doing their best with limited resources. Teachers, parents can’t replace you. You are essential. Take care of yourself. Be well.

How does a teacher who is a mother find all the energy to do all the things she does?
To be a teacher, mother, nurse, counselor, caretaker and friends to other people’s children and theirs.
How do you do it?
Mothers are chauffeurs, cooks, best friends and police officers yet find time to be a playmate, we just can’t comprehend.
We understand that it is love.
The love you give is so honest and pure.
Keeping us forever safe and secure.
This love is what causes you to answer whenever we your students and even your own offspring calls.
The inexhaustible love for all the children in your care is everything mother and we thank you for it all - your continued support, confidence and help.

Cheers to CHMS mother’s
Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mothers 🥂❤️
