Ryn-Kyj King is a St. Lucian Born who currently attends the St. Mary’s College Secondary School. From a young age he took a great interest in reading and writing participating in many competitions concerning these two areas during his formative years. He excelled in English Language and by the time he had entered form 2 began lessons to write the CSEC English Examinations that year. He also commenced the writing of his book “The Adventures of Possum” as part of a Write to Read competition funded by the OECS.
Three years later the book was completed and he aspires to make it the first of many.

The Adventures of Possum is a collection of four short stories compiled into a single book. It was written by Ryn-Kyj King, designed by Kitwana Julius and edited by Joanne C. Hillhouse. It follows the adventures of a possum and his various friends as they hatch cunning plans, hunt for treasure, graduate and experience summer vacation. The book is hopefully the first of many.

St. Mary’s College congratulates Jared Brent Blasse for his exceptional performance in the 2020 CSEC Mathematics Examination.

Jared Blasse is a fourth form student of St. Mary’s College. He has a passion for Mathematics. His competence in Mathematics was revealed in the Second Form when he represented the school in a Mathematics competition at the district level and won. This motivated him to attempt the CSEC Mathematics in Form Three as a prerequisite for pursuing CSEC Additional Mathematics at the Form Four and Five Level. He was fortunate enough to be tutored by Mr. Martin Evans of Vigie until the advent of the COVID 19 pandemic which caused the cessation of face-to-face interaction. However, he was not deterred and was fortunate to receive assistance from the Head of Mathematics Department at St. Mary’s College, Mr. Nereus Auguste. He was determined to do well and he excelled, ranking first in a five-way tie with other students from Trinidad, Guyana and Jamaica.

“I am honoured to be on the CSEC 2020 Merit List for Mathematics as I endeavor to keep making my school, my family, my country and myself proud.”
