Tyre’s Daycare Center for People of Special Needs - MOSAN
Mosan Center is a special education facility founded in 1993 to cater for children and young adults with mental disabilities and special learning needs. At present, our employees are 58 and we have 165 pupils- from Borj Al Shamali and Tyre areas-ages from 3 to 30 years, having a variety of disabilities. The pupils undergo vocational progra
ms and specialized classes in addition to rehabilitative treatment with a multidisciplinary team of speech, physical and occupational therapists, and psychological, behavioural social and health guidance as well as parents’ guidance. Our Goals
• To reinforce the skills and abilities of children and young adults with mental retardation starting from their experiences and their needs.
• To provide our students with daycare services through medical, educational, and vocational programs.
• To facilitate their social participation.
• To encourage their civic involvement.
• To provide information and support to their families.
• To create opportunities for the families to actively engage in our programs.
• To educate the community about mental disability.
• To create opportunities for contact between the mentally disabled and the public.
• To spark interest in encouraging and supporting the social inclusion of the mentally disabled.
• To provide unlimited opportunities for academic researches and social studies directly related to local institutions and universities, in addition to regional and International organizations.
• To provide training and proficiency services for all our workers.
• To prepare and train parents/families and volunteers.
